Welcome to Spartan Photo Centers used gear site.
We work hard to provide you with a good selection of new and used gear. All our gear is sourced locally, mostly from residents of Greenville and Spartanburg counties. We rarely source gear from outside sources or regions, except for special requests. Most of the gear we have, we sold originally. Our selection is seasonal and changes all the time. If you don't see it on our site, chances are we don't currently have it in stock.
We don't have ratings on this site, so in simple terms, if there are three of the same items listed with three different prices: the one with the highest price will be in the best condition with the least use and the lowest price item being the lowest condition and the most use.

WHAT IS OPEN BOX?
Open box sales items is anything that is new, but cannot be sold at full retail.
All items are 100% working and have the full manufacturer warranty.
This could be items that were returned missing packaging or paperwork.
Items showing wear on accessories or returns with damaged outer box.
Items could be one of a kind and limited availability or discontinued.
Our standard sales and return conditions still apply.

WHY DON'T THE PICTURES SHOW THE ACTUAL ITEM?
We would love to, but the used gear changes so quickly, that we do not have the time to photograph for each listing. To see the conditions of the gear, it would be best if you stopped in to see it for yourself.
Also, bring in your current gear so we can see if it is compatible. All of the brands have changed lens mounts, 2 or 3 times, at least. For example: Not all Nikon cameras can take an AIS lens. or, the new AFP Nikon lens will not work with all newer cameras. Best to try it before you buy it.

WHY IS THE SAME ITEM LISTED SEVERAL TIMES?
You might see the same model of camera or lens shown several times. This is because the condition of each of those listings is different. Generally speaking, the higher priced item will be in better condition, lighter use than the same one with the lowest price. WHY TRADE IN USED?
New camera gear can be very expensive to buy each new camera when it comes out. You can save some money by trading in your older gear for the newer up to date models. This saves you the hassle of selling it yourself, and allows you to stay up to date.
WHY BUY USED?
There are a lot of reasons to buy used gear. My first and foremost reason is to replace my favorite camera when i wear it out. another is to get something just for fun. Like a film camera, or a lens that I won't be using all the time. I can save a tremendous amount by buying the used gear.
WHY SPARTAN PHOTO CENTER USED GEAR?
Most of our used gear are from local customers, the majority of which purchased the gear from us originally. So it tends to be low use gear with lighter wear. We have been in business over 35 years, and you don't stay in business that long by unless you are making people happy. And we are not happy unless you are happy.

99 to 100% Mint - Looks new, near perfect, fully functional, with box and all accessories. Missing accessories down grades one level.
EX
90-98% Excellent- Looks brand new, only very slight wear, no box. No accessories down grades.
VG
80-90% Very Good - Clean as new, fine or light scratches. No dust or marks on glass. No dents or brassing. No accessories down grades.
GD
60-79% Good - Has some wear, brassing, slight dings or dents. No fungus or corrosion. LCD scratches. No accessories down grades.
BGN
20-59% - Bargain - Used and looks it. Will have large brassing, deep scratches, dents, marks or speck on glass. No accessories.
INOP
1-19% In operable - Many not function, or functions erratically. Very heavily used. Has external corrosion or massive damage. No accessories. Sold for parts. We may choose not to purchase.
